The following discloses the information gathering and use practices of the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) website (www.saltwaterfishing.sc.gov).

Our policy is to collect no personally identifiable information about users when they visit our web site unless they affirmatively choose to make such information available. Use of Information

Information is collected to improve the functionality and content of the SCDNR web site (www.saltwaterfishing.sc.gov) and to monitor its performance. Information is used to adapt site content to user needs and to generate aggregate statistical reports that help answer questions about the usage and performance of the site or individual web pages.  The SCDNR does not associate or disclose site usage by individual IP addresses - unless required by legally enforceable queries or for investigation of security breaches. SCDNR is the sole owner of the information collected on this site.  The SCDNR will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.

Surveys

From time-to-time the SCDNR requests information from users via surveys.  Participation in these surveys is completely voluntary and the user therefore has a choice whether or not to disclose this information.  Information requested may include contact information (such as name and address), and demographic information (such as zip code, age level).  Survey information will be used for the purposes of monitoring and improving the habitat of our natural resources as well as gathering feedback to improve service to the public.   

Children

In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA); The SCDNR does not intend to collect any personal information (that is name, address, telephone number, or e-mail address) from individuals under thirteen years of age. Where appropriate, we will specifically instruct children not to submit such information. If a child has provided personally-identifiable information, a parent or guardian of that child may contact the SCDNR at the e-mail address listed at the bottom of this Statement to request that this information be deleted from the records.
